| GENERALNY KONSERWATOR ZABYTKÓW ZAKWESTIONOWAŁ ZABUDOWĘ ZAMKU W CIECHANOWIE | |
|  Generalny Konserwator Zabytków podsekretarz stanu Tomasz Merta podjął 22 czerwca br. decyzję o wszczęciu postępowania w sprawie stwierdzenia nieważności decyzji Kierownika Delegatury w Ciechanowie Wojewódzkiego Urzędu Ochrony Zabytków, która umożliwiała zabudowę Zamku Książąt Mazowieckich w Ciechanowie w sposób wzbudzający liczne kontrowersje.
W wyniku przeprowadzonego przez Muzeum Szlachty Mazowieckiej w Ciechanowie ogólnopolskiego konkursu architektonicznego obejmującego rewitalizację Zamku Książąt Mazowieckich wyłoniony został projekt Pracowni Projektowej "Kleczkowski-Architekci", który zakładał wprowadzenie w obręb istniejących murów zamkowych nowych kubatur o współczesnej konstrukcji i formie. W listopadzie 2006 r. Kierownik Delegatury w Ciechanowie Wojewódzkiego Urzędu Ochrony Zabytków wydał decyzję umożliwiającą realizację projektu. Projekt wywołał liczne kontrowersje w środowiskach konserwatorów i historyków sztuki głównie ze względu na zastosowane rozwiązania konstrukcyjne oraz z uwagi na daleko posuniętą ingerencję w widok na zabytek. Wprowadzenie nowoczesnej budowli o konstrukcji żelbetowej, zakotwionej na koronie murów obwodowych zamku i znacznie ponad nią wystającej, zmieniałoby - zdaniem krytyków projektu - w istotny sposób wygląd zabytku utrwalonego od lat w krajobraz Ciechanowa.
W marcu 2007 r. do Generalnego Konserwatora Zabytków wpłynął wniosek Polskiego Komitetu Narodowego Międzyresortowej Rady Ochrony Zabytków ICOMOS "o wstrzymanie procedur prowadzących do wdrożenia projektu rewitalizacji Zamku Książąt Mazowieckich w Ciechanowie". Projekt rewitalizacji zamku przedstawiony został do oceny merytorycznej Głównej Komisji Konserwatorskiej działającej przy Generalnym Konserwatorze Zabytków jako organ opiniodawczy do spraw działań konserwatorskich podejmowanych przy zabytkach. 9 maja 2007 r. Główna Komisja Konserwatorska podjęła uchwałę, w której oceniła negatywnie przedstawiony projekt. Komisja stwierdziła, że projekt w sposób drastyczny ingeruje w układ architektoniczny i kompozycyjny zamku, a tym samym stwarza zagrożenie dla jego substancji zabytkowej.
Wobec faktu, że postępowanie administracyjne prowadzone przez organ konserwatorski pierwszej instancji (Kierownika Delegatury w Ciechanowie Wojewódzkiego Urzędu Ochrony Zabytków w Warszawie) zostało już zakończone decyzją pozwalającą na prace przy zabytku według wymienionego wyżej projektu i jest to decyzja ostateczna w administracyjnym toku instancji, Generalny Konserwator Zabytków podjął decyzję o wszczęciu w nadzwyczajnym trybie postępowania stwierdzenia nieważności decyzji umożliwiającej realizację projektu.
